It took 3 years to plan and make this shot. Planning with tools like Google Earth and Photopills to get the exact frame of reference to see the Seceda ridgeline on edge, with the peaks in the background.... To find the foreground wild flowers, and hope that they were still in bloom.... To plan the time of day when the sun would light up the peaks. The cloudy sky was a bonus. We were thankful for everything that came with this view, and we cherished the moments sitting in a patch of flowers, on the edge of a cliff, looking at these magnificent mountains.

The tilted plateau of Seceda left us awestruck. finding this flower patch lined up with the ridge line, and the peaks in the distance was a dream come true.

A photo that was 3 years in planning. using Google earth and celestial planning tool Photopills, this shot came out exactly as I planned it.

Here’s a special shot of Brian and Neil for which I did a ‘sky replacement’. I wanted to use the lines of the railroad in this shot. the original was good, but had some distractions like a car and a building. so I chose to erase the distractions and drop in a sky from another photo I had.

Neil and Brian’s wedding was full of inspirational moments. The tweed attired grooms gave endearing vows that touched all of us present. Brian sang an emotional song during the ceremony that had us all captivated and by the moment they were pronounced married, we were all cheering for them!

Bara selected a winter fashion shoot with pastel pink and purple backpack to offset the cool blue and green winter tones of the Illinois River valley. To add to the winter look, I shot this set after sunset, during the blue hour. this helped amplify the color light wavelengths yet still maintain the warm skin tones and unique eye color. This was shot on Sony Alpha 7iii, with the Sony G Master 24-70mm lens, at f2.8. This shot was at 70 mm, and really brings out the fabulous bokeh of this lens. the backdrop here looks like a watercolor painting. The Sony Eye Autofocus helps me get sharp focus on Barq’s eyes.
