The Great American Eclipse - August 21, 2017 Fort de Chartres, IL
The fleeting moments of totality leave you breathless. Everyone notices something different; the streamers of the outer corona, the prominences at the inner corona, the odd light and color on all surroundings.. It's hard to take it all in with so little time. Meanwhile, the camera can take multiple shots at different exposure settings. Compositing these together can reveal multiple details at once. This gallery contains a composite I made of three exposures during totality. It's incredible to see the subtle structure of the outer corona. This gallery also contains two interpretations of the eclipse sequence. Enjoy!
